Awesome Gem (blue cloth number 3) and defending champion Rail Trip (black cloth, number 6) both drive for the finish line in the 2010 Hollywood Gold Cup at Hollywood Park. Awesome Gem, the gorgeous little red gelding that i always root for, would come out the winner in a close finish and deny Rail Trip a second win in the Grade 1 race. This was the biggest win of 'Gem's career, and it was the first time i ever won an exotic wager! an exacta to be exact. it paid quite a bit, since 'Gem was a bit of a price that day.
I really like this photo, but i'm dissapointed that i didn't get 'Trip's tail in it. He has a pretty black shiny tail.
