Description

Mixed media: watercolor paint, Acrylic white paint, black pen and india ink , and colored pencil on smooth bristol board. This painting is only about eight inches long and wide.

painted for a contest for :iconeeveefanclub:
Update: LOL SECOND PLACE?!?!? cool, man! :)
contest instructions: create something eevee-related using only two colors plus black and white.
The two colors i used were the Cotman watercolor paints Dioxazine Violet(a bluish purple) and Rose Madder Hue(a darkish pink). i used prismacolor pencils of nearly identical colors to the paint to fix a few blemishes...though i still couldn't get that right hind leg right.

After completing this, i have the sudden urge to do a whole series like this with eevee's evolved forms. All would use only one or two colors and be set in some starry dimension full of sparkle...I may deny it a lot, but i actually do love sparkly stuff... :/

the starry "other dimension" background was probably inspired by the original Flareon Pokemon card from the Jungle set, which shows a flareon flying through what looks to me like outer space. >>>[link]
That was always one of my favorite pokemon cards, and the one besides charizard that i wanted a holographic version of above any other, but i never got one. but i still have a non-holographic version of the card. In fact i still have a lot of my cards. I have an entire binder full of holographic and rare cards! and many of them are in great condition too.

Flareon and Pokemon belong to Nintendo.
